Always been fascinated by low-poly models, and it had been a good while since I'd tried to make one. And since the details of Boba Fett's new look are practically burned into my brain thanks to the cosplay I've been working on, I thought he'd be a fun character to try doing this with.
When I posted the first one on Reddit, someone said it looked like it would fit right into Shadows of the Empire (a Nintendo 64 Star Wars game), and I looked up the system's polygon limits out of curiosity. Sure enough! The poly count is right in line with an N64 character model, but the texture was about 4x too big. So I tried fitting everything on a 32x32 canvas, saw that the texture filtering made the helmet unrecognizable, and decided to make one 32x32 texture for the helmet, and one for everything else.
I drew all textures in Aseprite because pixel art is fun and pixel art textures work great for low-poly models.
